The first class will cover basic computer skills. Students will be able to learn the computer so they can interact with family and friends, learn new things and develop a skill professionally. Learn the fundamentals at your pace, including how to use a mouse, learning new computer terminology and understanding how icons become pictures and links become connections. In the second class you'll set up your own email account (if you don't already have one) so you can learn to send and receive emails, attach and send documents/ pictures, and upload and download emails. Then you can begin 'surfing the internet'! This beginner's hands-on course will focus on everything you need to know to become 'internet proficient.' You'll learn the key internet tools, type in the website and be ready to “surf the web”. Learn about www - the World Wide Web, browsers, search engines, and directories. You'll also learn what makes a site secure, the various types of internet service providers and which one is right for you. Basic keyboarding and mouse use required.
