Bring your creative thoughts and ideas into the real world! You’ll start by manipulating sheets of aluminum foil to create armatures (skeletons) for free standing sculptures. Then, low firing polymer clay will be applied over the crushed and crumbled foil skeleton to build up the form of your most daring creation. Finally, you’ll add the details with acrylic paint and finish with a gloss glaze. First and second graders will work with basic forms such as spheres, cones, and egg shapes, progressing to a four-legged freestanding sculpture. Third, fourth and fifth graders will begin with four-legged creatures, ultimately learning to make a more challenging freestanding creature that can stand on two legs. Whether you like dogs, dragons, dinosaurs or anything you can imagine, this workshop will bring your creativity into the third dimension!
