This yeast based coffee cake is not seen much any more in bakeries today, but it was Kim's favorite when she worked in a bakery. The dough is a simple preparation and the chunks of butter dropped into the "finger dented holes" on the top make this cake rich and flavorful. The crunchy sugar topping only adds to the heavenly experience. Kim will demo making this cake, then each student will make their own Butter Kuchen to take home. Bring to class: apron, dish towel, take home container to fit a 9-10" round coffee cake.
