Join us as we explore this world-class, vibrant renowned site. We will experience a private behind the scenes tour of the General Assembly Hall, the Security Council Chamber and the Economic and Social Council Chambers where current issues such as peace and security, human rights and disarmament are discussed. Private Ambassadors to the public (our guides) hail from many different countries. There are also 65 works of art and architectural elements that are on display at the visitor center and the UN building. After our tour we will proceed to the Delegates Dining Room where "the world meets" for a special lunch. Lunch consists of fresh and exciting international cuisine as well as farm to table foods. The sweeping views of Manhattan, the East River, the Queensboro Bridge, Roosevelt Island and the Long Island City Waterfront while we dine are spectacular. Our last stop will be another NYC Institution - Zabar's (since 1934) International Food Emporium, Bakery and Deli located on the Upper West Side. Visit the bakery for a dessert or specialty bread to bring home or go upstairs to see every kitchen gadget imaginable. This unique NYC experience will be one long remembered! Wear comfortable walking shoes. BRING A PHOTO ID. There are specific rules for our visit to the UN. Everyone MUST bring a government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Originals only! No exceptions. In order to dine in the Delegates Dining Room proper business casual attire is required. NO jeans, sneakers or short pants are permitted. This trip requires a fair amount of walking. If a wheelchair is needed, it is recommended to bring your own.
